I returned to Den Haag greeted by snow. Everything was white and wonderful but at the same time cold and harsh. Mixed between feeling of wonderment and misery, I wrap myself tighter in my coat to brace the cold.

With flowers in her dress
A slight bright smile
I wait,
Whenever she wants to come
I see frozen flowers standing still in their pots. I realize that, for the moment, all warmth and beauty is lying dormant, frozen by the cold. So I must be patient and wait for those buds to bloom. If the New Year starts with winter, then I must endure the cold.

Challenges lie ahead and there is much hard work to be done. No one said it was going to be easy. There will be good times but there will also be bad times, but at least I have made my choice. Now it’s time to take the first step of this long and hard journey.
